24 Weeks

Week 24 Highlights

How far along: 24 weeks

Size of baby: An ear of corn! She is weighing in at approximately 1 1/3 lbs and almost a foot long.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Still down about 2lbs from my starting weight.

How I'm Changing: I am feeling large and in charge. I think I'm getting more used to it though.

24 weeks, 3 days. Barnaby and the bump.
Maternity Clothes: Same as past weeks. I am getting a little worried that my maternity tanks might not be long enough to make it through the long haul. I may need to find a brand that is longer.

Gender: Girl

Movements: We have a very active girl on our hands! Her kicks are pretty strong now.

Sleep: I am waking up several times a night to re-position to get more comfortable and up out of bed 1-2 times to use the bathroom.

Symptoms:  Oh the heartburn this week! :(

How I'm feeling: There are days/nights I feel pretty uncomfortable - especially if I've been particularly active during the day. I'm just so happy to not be tossing my cookies all the time!

What I Miss: Sleeping through the night and sitting more comfortably for long periods of time (ie sporting games).

Cravings: Chocolate! Specifically chocolate covered nuts.

Best Moment of the Week: Date night with the Husby! We had dinner downtown and then went to the Pacers game. Also, my mother-in-law let me open some presents from her and my father-in-law that we already had at the house. We got some awesome baby gear! It was so exciting watching Blake put everything together last night -it made it so real. We will have a baby girl in our arms in a few short months! EEEKKKKK!!!

What I am Looking Forward To: Celebrating Christmas!
24 weeks, 1 day This photo comparison cracks me up. I feel like I look slightly non-pregnant from the front, but as soon as you see my profile - BAM baby belly!

23 Weeks

Time has really gotten away from me and I finally uploaded some photos so I could post these drafts! It has been hard getting caught up from being gone on vacation and getting ready for Christmas.

Week 23 Highlights

23 weeks

23 weeks, 4 days

How far along: 23 weeks

Size of baby: A large mango! She is approximately 11 inches long and weighs just over 1lb.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Still down about 2lbs from my starting weight, but I did gain 7lbs! I guess that's what happens when you can actually eat and can keep things down. Luckily, no stink eye from my doctor for gaining so much in one week (well, technically, she doesn't know it was all in one week....) but did ask if I was still vomiting even though I gained a little at my appointment . :)

How I'm Changing: Oh the leg and foot cramps at night! I also feel like I have a watermelon and two cantaloupes strapped to the front of me. I am finding weird positions to make bending easier. Bending over for our front-loading washer and dryer is becoming comical! I think I need to work on squatting!

Maternity Clothes: With the exception of my yoga pants, I am in maternity pants full time. Both maternity and my flowly non-maternity tops are still a go. I might need to grab some more maternity sweaters the next time I'm out shopping. It's been so cold here!

Gender: Girl

Movements: We have a very active girl on our hands! At times I think I can feel her kicking my organs around. I wonder how it'll feel as she gets bigger.

Sleep: I am waking up several times a time to re-position to get more comfortable and up out of bed 1-2 times a night for bathroom breaks/pacing the room because of leg and foot cramps.

Symptoms:  Pretty normal here - nothing new to report.

How I'm feeling: Great!

What I Miss: I gotta admit, I really wanted some wine this week. New Year's Eve is going to be rough because I love champagne

Cravings: Chips and dip....like really bad!

Best Moment of the Week: Hearing her heartbeat at my doctor's visit and going to our last Colts game for the season with my BIL and SIL. Oh, and my office Christmas lunch. It was great to see all my coworkers. One of the sweet ladies surprised me with a super adorable outfit for baby girl.

What I am Looking Forward To: Finishing up Christmas shopping and getting everything wrapped. I love wrapping! Of course, celebrating with family! And for real, I'm going to pick the nursery pain color this week.

22 Weeks

Week 22 Highlights

How far along: 22 weeks

Size of baby:  A spaghetti squash! She is weighing in at approximately 1 pound and is 11 inches in length.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Still down about 9 lbs. Based on the amount of food I'm consuming on the cruise, I know I'm finally gaining some weight. I don't know how I'll survive without mounds of fresh pineapple everyday.

How I'm Changing: Belly is growing! It is clear that I'm with child. Many friendly people on the cruise asked when we are due, if baby is a boy or girl, and guessed correctly that this was our first baby. Luckily no one tried to touch me. Since puberty I've been a little on the chunky side and I've always been so worried that I would be one who gained weight all over and would never have a cute baby belly. I'm so pleasantly surprised with how my body is changing. This might be the first time in my adult life I actually like the way my body looks. Maybe I'm finally giving myself a break and not being so critical. I'm making another human after all! It is pretty amazing that my body can do this.

Maternity Clothes: With the exception of my yoga pants, I am in maternity pants full time. I packed many non-maternity dresses for the cruise, but for some, their days are numbered. I also purchased some maternity swimsuits for the cruise.

Gender: Girl

Movements: YES! She is very active and her kicks are getting stronger. At 22 weeks and 2 days I started feeling kicks a little higher and Blake was able to feel her on the evening of 22 weeks 6 days. It was very faint for him, so we're excited for her movements to become stronger. She loved all the music on the cruise.

Sleep: I am waking up several times a time to re-position to get more comfortable and up out of bed 1-2 times a night for bathroom breaks/pacing the room because of leg and foot cramps.

Symptoms:  My first ever week without vomiting! It was a miracle! Also, I'm so glad I packed several maxi dresses to hide my cankles! My feet and ankles have begun to swell this week. I think it is a combination of being more active, the heat, and I'm sure the increased sodium in the food we're consuming.

How I'm feeling: Fantastic! I was tired every afternoon, but able to rest a lot.

What I Miss: Moving more easily and having my normal supply of energy.

Cravings: Pineapple and desserts -all readily available on the boat! Also milk! I've never been a milk person, but I HAVE to have it every morning.

Best Moment of the Week: Simply being on vacation, and of course, Blake feeling her move.

What I am Looking Forward To: Being home with our fur-babies and my doctor's appointment. Also starting on the nursery. I hope we can get it painted before Christmas. Time is flying!

Above: 22 weeks, 1 day on the boat in the port at San Juan, Puerto Rico waiting for the rain to stop. Spoiler alert - it didn't.

Right: 22 weeks, 2 days at Philipsburg, Sint Maarten (Dutch side)

Below: 22 weeks, 2 days I think this was on the French side of Saint-Martin. Isn't the color of the ocean insane?!

21 Weeks

Week 21 Highlights

How far along: 21 weeks
21 weeks, 5 days (In our cruise cabin on the 1st night)

Size of baby:  A carrot! Approximately 10 and 1/2 inches long and weighing in at 3/4 of a pound.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Still down about 9lbs. I gained a pound this week!

How I'm Changing: Belly is growing!

Maternity Clothes: With the exception of my yoga pants, I am in maternity pants full time. They are so comfortable. I packed many non-maternity dresses for the cruise, but for some, their days are numbered. I also purchased some maternity swimsuits for the cruise.

Gender: Girl

Movements: YES!!! The afternoon of 21 weeks I felt our little girl kicking!

Sleep: The leg cramps have begun - enough said.

Symptoms: I am starting to feel better. I have high hopes for the cruise. I am determined to stay on-top of taking my Zofran in hopes of being able to eat and having a good week.

How I'm feeling: Great!

What I Miss: Eating!

Cravings: Still on my sweet and sour kick. Mexican or spicy food still seems to be ok.

Best Moment of the Week: Feeling our girl move and spending Thanksgiving with family. I was even able to enjoy our Thanksgiving meal!

What I am Looking Forward To: A week in paradise with the love of my life! We haven't really taken a vacation since our honeymoon. Husby has been so busy at work and will be very busy when we get home so I'm looking forward to spending tons of uninterrupted time with him.
21 weeks, 6 days at Cococay, Bahamas
